PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Philadelphia police department has reinstated an officer fired in 2019 over Facebook posts saying among other things that refugees should "starve to death." The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that officer Christian Fenico was reinstated with full back pay after an arbitrator in a grievance filed with the police union ruled Fenico's social media posts did not prevent him from being a valuable officer. The reinstatement and scheduled arbitration for at least five other officers, comes as the city grapples with the public perception of its officers after several violent altercations with marchers protesting police brutality and racist police practices.

HARRISBURG, PA. (WOLF) — The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is hosting the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s (PGC) banding of the 2024 Rachel Carson State Office Building peregrine falcon nestlings. Patti Barber, Endangered Bird Specialist with PGC, will lead the team in bringing the nestlings in from the 15th floor ledge. Barber will weigh them, inspect their health, and put light metal bands around their legs for identification. This year there are five nestlings that will be banded.
Pittsburgh Pirates' veteran Andrew McCutchen reached another career milestone in Sunday's 9-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.
In the ninth inning, McCutchen, affectionately nicknamed "Cutch," launched a slider into the left-field seats for his 300th career MLB homerun.
