2 teens charged for setting fire to wooded area near Garfield Park

Altoona, PA (WJAC) — Altoona police say two teens are facing arson charges after reportedly setting fire to a wooded area near Garfield Park Tuesday afternoon. Police say crews were dispatched to the 1100 block of 25th Street after a State Parole agent witnessed the two teens start the fire and flee the scene. Investigators say the fire "spread rapidly" and burned an area the approximate size of a football field.

DuBois man accused of repeatedly sexually abusing girl for over a year, faces over 100 felonies

Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Clearfield County have filed over 100 counts of various felonies against a DuBois area man following an investigation into accusations that he repeatedly sexually abused a teenage girl for over a year. DuBois police say they began investigating 39-year-old Sean Lechiara in May after the girl came forward to report the abuse while she was at school. Police say the girl told officers that Lechiara had reportedly began assaulting her when she was 12 years old, and claimed that the repeated abuse lasted for approximately a year and a half.
