HOLLADAY, Utah (KUTV) — Search and rescue teams were called to the scene of an avalanche at Neffs Canyon in Utah Wednesday afternoon where a backcountry skier was partially buried, authorities said. Sgt. Melody Cutler with the Unified Police Department said the 35-year-old man was skiing the Thomas Fork area when a 200-foot-wide avalanche was triggered, burying him up to his chest. The man was apparently skiing alone, and no one was there to witness or report the incident.

Missing Punxsy man found dead in Allegheny River

ARMSTRONG CO, Pa (WJAC) — According to a release from the Armstrong County coroner's office, a Punxsutawney man was found dead in the Allegheny River on Wednesday afternoon. Authorities say 38-year-old Nathan Paul Lauer had been missing since last Saturday. Lauer was pronounced dead at the scene by Armstrong County coroner Brian Myers, and an autopsy is pending. State police and the coroner's office are still investigating the incident, the release notes.

Since February, the DuBois Dream's entire season was cancelled because of the pandemic. As Clearfield County moved into the green phase, the owner of the team Albert Varacallo says they came up with a 3 on 3 outdoor basketball tournament.
