Bassett won his 8th Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling state championship, a previous record held solely by Nico Cortese from Franklin Regional. Over the course of the three-day tournament, no wrestler went the full length against Bassett. The world champion defeated every opponent he faced by technical fall in the first period. Somerset Co., PA (WJAC) — State police say a section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, in Somerset Township, was closed for over 6 hours early Wednesday morning following a hit-and-run crash involving a truck hauling ice cream. Police say the crash occurred just before 1 a.m. near the 110.6 mile marker, according to the crash report. Investigators say a flatbed tractor-trailer was traveling in the right-hand lane and was attempting to pass the truck hauling ice cream when it crossed into the left lane and struck the other truck.
