Mount Union guidance counselor acquitted of institutional sex assault
Huntingdon Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Huntingdon County have confirmed that a Mount Union guidance counselor, who was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a male student, has been acquitted by a jury.
Earlier this week, Morgan Anderson was tried on the sole count of institutional sex assault after being accused of engaging in sexual activity with an 18-year-old male student.
Police say Anderson claimed that their encounters occurred outside of school and stated that "she wasn't violating any laws" since the student was 18.
Officials with the Huntingdon County District Attorney's office say that while they are disappointed in the outcome, they respect the jury's decision to acquit Anderson in the case.
