State police investigating man's death at Indiana County quarry

Indiana County, PA (WJAC) — State police and the Indiana County coroner's office are investigating the death of a man at an Indiana County limestone quarry.

Officials say first responders were dispatched to Ridge Limestone Inc., located in Young Township, around 10:30 a.m. Friday.

Authorities say the man had reportedly become trapped in a limestone hopper.

Investigators say, despite rescue efforts, the man, who is an employee of the company, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say no foul play is suspected and the man's next-of-kin is being notified.

Authorities have not yet identified the man and an autopsy is being conducted late Friday.
