Coroner IDs man killed in motorcycle crash that closed Scalp Ave. for several hours

2nd UPDATE |

Cambria County coroner Jeff Lees had identified the victim of Saturday's fatal motorcycle crash on Scalp Ave.

Lees say 53-year-old Kirk Young, of Windber, was reportedly ejected from the motorcycle after colliding with another vehicle along the 1600 block of Scalp Ave.

Authorities say Young was transported to Conemaugh Hospital where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room just before 11 p.m. Saturday.

Lees says Young suffered multiple blunt force injuries and noted that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Officials say his death has been ruled accidental and authorities are conducting a crash reconstruction to determine the exact cause of the crash.
