Teen in 'stable condition' following accidental shooting outside Cambria Co. gym

Police have released more details regarding a shooting that occurred at MorGainz Fitness, in Jackson Township, Cambria County, Sunday morning.

According to officers with the Jackson Township Police Department, the shooting involved one juvenile who accidentally shot himself in a car in the parking lot of the business around 11:30 a.m.

Officials said the 13-year-old was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Authorities say the juvenile is now listed in stable condition after undergoing emergency surgery.

Police note that the firearm was recovered and the investigation is ongoing.
