Pennsylvania Game Commission approved new changes to hunting and trapping season

Johnstown, Pa — Hunters, listen up! There have been some changes to the upcoming hunting and trapping season. 6 News spoke to an official from the Pennsylvania Game Commission as well as the Assistant Manager of a local hunting shop and although they say there's not much different from last season to this one – the biggest change is how hunters can purchase their antlerless deer license. “The biggest change for hunters and our deer hunters in particular is the change in the way that antlerless deer licenses will be obtained in the coming license year,” said Travis Lau, the Communication Director of the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

California college hosting ceremony for 'undocumented' students

PASADENA, Calif. (TND) — Pasadena City College (PCC) in California will host an “UndocuGraduation” next week for "undocumented" students, according to a listing on its website. The event will honor the graduates with a ceremony, dinner and “entertainment.” Hosting the ceremony is the school’s Dream Resource Center, which provides free legal immigrations services, scholarships and “priority academic counseling.” "Undocugraduation celebrates our undocumented students’ educational success at Pasadena City College," the listing reads.

PA man receives $34 billion tax bill; IRS investigating

Mount Joy, Pennsylvania — If you think your taxes are high, one Pennsylvania man probably has you beat, as he says his jaw dropped when he got his latest tax bill. Barry Tangert says he was charged more than 34 billion dollars in overdue taxes, penalties, and interest by the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue. The number is so big that it doesn’t even fit on one line. Barry says this year, his tax preparer noticed a mistake on his 2022 return and sent in an amended return.

Suspected serial killer faces life in prison after being convicted of 2 murders by Delaware jury

DOVER, Del. (AP) — A suspected serial killer accused in the deaths of six people in Delaware and Pennsylvania in 2021 was convicted of murder and other crimes by a Delaware jury on Tuesday. The jury deliberated for about six hours over two days before finding Keith Gibson of Philadelphia guilty of murder and robbery in the killings of Elsmere cellphone store clerk Leslie Ruiz-Basilio, 28, and Wilmington drug dealer Ronald Wright, 42.

Cambria Co. school district to pay back $3.7M following alleged 'error' by county

Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — An alleged error made by Cambria County officials is making for some tough choices for leaders in the Central Cambria School District. A school board meeting was held Monday evening where leaders voted to move forward with a feasibility study to explore consolidating their two elementary schools. The decision came after a recent tax settlement where officials claim that the county mistakenly appraised a natural gas power plant in Jackson Township at five times its actual value.
