Illinois governor tells agencies to cut $800 million, says he won't sign unbalanced budget

(TCS) — Gov. J.B. Pritzker says the message being sent by a memo directing state agencies to anticipate $800 million less to spend than what he proposed is that he will not sign an unbalanced budget. In February, Pritzker proposed spending $52.7 billion. Last week, his administration sent agency directors a memo saying the $1 billion in tax increases he proposed aren’t popular and to anticipate they won’t be approved.

Pa. hunter shoots, kills dog mistaken for coyote, owners say

Maine museum offers $20,000 reward for piece of meteor seen over Northeast

BETHEL (WGME) -- The Maine Mineral and Gem Museum in Bethel is offering a $20,000 reward for meteorites from the fireball that was seen streaking through the Maine sky Tuesday. The fireball was seen across the Northeast and Canada. The museum suspects the meteor entered Earth's atmosphere over Maine and its terminal explosion occurred about 30 km west of Rangeley in Franklin County. It's offering a $20,000 reward for the first one-kilogram meteorite recovered which will receive a place of honor in the museum's Meteorite Hall.

Penn State announces new changes, additions to Beaver Stadium

'Untreated' UTI puts PA collegiate athlete in coma

Pittsburgh (WPXI) — A Pittsburgh teenager is fighting for her life after she became seriously ill and wound up in a medically induced coma, and doctors say it’s all due to a urinary tract infection that went untreated. The girl’s parents say they are relieved that there are finally signs of progress. “She’s a perfectly healthy 18-year-old who, on Sunday, was fighting for her life,” her mother said. Most people know Katie Sullivan as a Central Valley high school graduate, a gymnast, and a freshman softball player at Waynesburg University.
