YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The parents of an elementary student have filed a lawsuit against the the Red Lion School District for allegedly not reporting the sexual assault of a 5-year-old, despite having knowledge of the matter.
According to the lawsuit, a 5-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by another student on a Red Lion school bus on Oct. 16, 2023. The lawsuit is also suing Michael Langan, principal of Clearview Elementary School at the time of the assault, who allegedly knew of the abuse and failed to report it to ChildLine, as well as failing to separate the victim and the perpetrator onto different buses.
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The State College Area School Board of Directors voted by a 5-4 margin Wednesday night to a cancel a bid that had Papa John's pizza being served in the district.
The vote came after Superintendent Bob O'Donnel and business manager Randy Brown made the recommendation, citing actions by the former CEO of the pizza chain as inconsistent with the district's School Climate and Inclusive Excellence Policy.

JOHNSTOWN – A 3-D archery shoot was held Saturday at the St. Clair Tremont Club, with all the proceeds benefiting a 5-year-old boy who was hit by a CamTran bus earlier this year.
Police said Colton Oster was riding his bike in March when he darted out of an alley into the path of the bus. He was flown to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC with serious injuries.

Warren County, PA — Authorities in both Pennsylvania and New York are searching for a homicide suspect who reportedly escaped from the Warren County jail Thursday night.
Police say 34-year-old Michael Burham is accused of killing Kayla Hodgkin, in Jamestown, New York, in early May.
According to reports, Burham is also accused of kidnapping a Pennsylvania couple while he was on the run from authorities. Following a large manhunt, Burham was reportedly arrested in South Carolina and was extradited back to New York.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A bond has been set at $2,500,000 for the former Titans scout accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend.
Blaise Taylor, 27, was arrested in Utah on two counts of first-degree murder after the poisoning death of his girlfriend Jade Benning and her 5-month-old fetus.
Earlier this month, Taylor made his first court appearance via video conference. The district attorney's office is pursuing life in prison without parole for Taylor under accused circumstances that the defendant knew the victim was pregnant, committed the murder knowingly and committed the murder against a person less than 12 years old.
UPDATE:CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Authorities say one man is in federal custody following an hours-long standoff in Sandy Township, Clearfield County.
State police say the standoff resulted in a large portion of Route 255, between DuBois and Penfield, being closed most of Wednesday.
Sandy Township Police Chief Kriz Kruzelac confirmed to our 6 News crew on scene that state police and U.S. Marshalls were serving a federal search warrant at a home along Old 255, prior to the standoff.
TYRONE - The Tyrone Armory is getting a facelift with new owners, a new floor and a new look inside.
But the outside of the building will remain the same.
"The Armory has such a history, it goes back until 1912. Nobody wanted to see it go," said Jim Kilmartin, of Joshua House, the nonprofit renovating the building.
Joshua House's mission focuses on the youth of the area, so leaders decided to transform the unused building into a community recreation center.

(AP) — The National Weather Service has confirmed that at least two tornadoes touched down briefly in south-central Pennsylvania last week, and one damaged some buildings, but no injuries were reported.
