PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A Portland State University spokesperson has confirmed Portland State University’s Chief of Campus Police Willie Halliburton suffered a medical emergency while responding to more protests on campus Thursday.
Campus Public Safety officers arrested seven people related to the protest, three of those individuals were PSU students. Portland Police Bureau was also onsite and provided support. Halliburton was transported to the hospital and admitted. According to the Portland Police Bureau, the day of the incident PPB had formed a line for all PSU officers to make arrests, but the crowd allegedly became hostile and surrounded the officers.
WASHINGTON (TND) — Roller coaster riders at a Wisconsin carnival were stuck upside-down for at least three hours during the weekend due to what authorities have described as a "mechanical failure." Eight passengers were suspended in an upright position on a loop of the "Fireball" amusement ride at the Forest County Festival in Crandon on Sunday. Footage from the scene shows what appear to be several adults and a few children upside-down.
EBENSBURG, Pa. - The UPMC outpatient center in Ebensburg has opened.
The facility project was announced in January of 2017 and brings both UPMC family practice and specialty care physicians and outpatient testing and therapy services to Cambria County.
Cambria Township engineer Jack Schaffer said he signed off on the final inspection Tuesday, and the facility opened Wednesday.
He said some general maintenance, like cleaning up debris, filling cracks in pavement and street-sweeping, needs to be completed.
HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. — Starting Saturday, the Rockhill Trolley Museum will be hosting their annual Santa’s Trolley Rides, from 10 am to 3 pm.
Visitors will board one of three trolleys and kids will get to meet Santa.
A new event that they will be running is the ‘Lights, Cameras, Christmas Trolleys’ event, from 5 pm until 9 pm, during which photographers of all skill levels will be able to photograph the trolleys, and have their pictures taken with the Candyland area, while they’re lit up for the season.
