Clearfield County SPCA assisting with animals police said were sexually abused

MUNSON - Officials in Clearfield County are working to find shelters for several animals police said were victims of abuse. State police filed charges Saturday against three Munson men for having sexual intercourse with animals at a makeshift farm on Mouse Lane. Terry Wallace, 41, Matthew Brubaker, 32, and Marc Measnikoff, 34, have been charged with endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, 1460 counts of sexual intercourse with animals and 1460 counts of cruelty to animals.

Thousands of fish salvaged from Jefferson County lake

FALLS CREEK - The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission rescued thousands of fish from a lake in Jefferson County Thursday. PFBC has been draining Kyle Lake since September in order to repair the unsafe dam. Before any work can be done, PFBC biologists had to capture and relocate the fish. Bureau of Prisons not renewing Moshannon Valley Correctional Facility contract: Officials

PHILIPSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — The GEO Group announced Wednesday that the Federal Bureau of Prisons will not be renewing their contract for the Moshannon Valley Correctional Facility in Clearfield County. The contract, which GEO officials say generated about $42 million in annualized revenue, is set to expire March 31. The GEO Group is an equity real estate investment trust that specializes in designing and operating secure facilities processing centers and community reentry centers in the United States and across the world.

Former PSU QB Will Levis commits to Kentucky

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa (WJAC) — Former Penn State quarterback Will Levis announced Friday that he is transferring to the University of Kentucky. Levis entered the transfer portal last week as he prepares for his redshirt Junior season. Levis played in 15 games for the Nittany Lions over the past two seasons, starting two of them. He has rushed for nearly 400 total yards in his career with Penn State, according to his stat sheet.

Late night fire damages garage, home in Hollidaysburg, officials say

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Fire officials in Blair County say multiple crews were called to battle a blaze at a Hollidaysburg residence late Sunday night. Authorities say crews from Geeseytown, Phoenix and Duncansville Fire Departments spent approximately three hours extinguishing the flames at the residence located along Axelle Street. Officials say the fire began in the garage of the home and quickly spread to the attic. Fire authorities say multiple pets were rescued from the blaze and the family was able to escape unharmed.
