Elk County, PA (WJAC) — If you're looking for a unique way to experience Pennsylvania’s elk population, this story is for you. Horse-drawn wagon rides are being offered through the Elk Country Visitor Center in Benezette. It's mating season for the elk, meaning they're more active and you have a better chance of catching a glimpse. Now, if you're interested in taking a wagon tour, they're usually held on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

WASHINGTON (TND) — As we reflect on this Memorial Day, our military heroes and veterans often face new obstacles when they come home, especially as they transition out of service and into the civilian workforce. Around 200,000 people leave the armed forces every year, but the Pew Research Center says only one in four has a job lined up. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation says 53% are unemployed for four months or longer after leaving the military.

Traffic jammed as workers begin removing I-95 overpass scorched in fuel truck fire

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Workers on Friday began removing a bridge over a Connecticut highway that was damaged in a fiery crash involving a gasoline tanker truck — a project expected to keep both sides of Interstate 95 closed through the weekend and extend a traffic nightmare on the major artery linking New England and New York. Crews took down metal fencing on the span in Norwalk before two large excavators — one on each side of the highway — began demolishing the concrete sides of the structure.

Cello worth $250,000 stolen from a Seattle home

SEATTLE (KOMO) — A cello worth about $250,000 wasstolen from a Seattle home over the weekend, and detectives are seeking information. The stolen instrument is an "1890 Enrico Marchetti cello with a blue and black carbon fiber case," according to the Seattle Police Department (SPD). Officers were called to a Seattle home on the 1600 block of 24th Avenue around 5 p.m. Sunday for reports of a burglary, the SPD said.

New York will bury unclaimed coronavirus victims in mass graves on Hart Island: Officials

NEW YORK (CNN Newsource) — More unclaimed bodies in New York will be laid to rest on Hart Island. The cemetery has been used for years as the burial ground for people who had no family come forward to claim them. And now it will be used for covid-19 victims in the same situation. New York city leaders say only bodies that haven't been claimed after a couple of weeks will be buried -- and they were doing so to help open up space in morgues for more dead people.

Rachel's Challenge visits Brookville

BROOKVILLE, Pa.--Rachel Joy Scott was the first of 12 students killed in the 1999 massacre at Columbine High School. Her father, Darrell Scott, created Rachel's Challenge to carry on her beliefs and spread the message of compassion and anti-bullying. Brookville School District students in grades three through 12 first learned the history of Rachel. The program is based on five challenges that come from the writings of Rachel. She wrote six diaries and several journals.
